The Brush Creek Inn was built in 1886 by John Ulrich along the Harmony Short Line, where it served railroad passengers and local farmers. Brush Creek Hotel, as it was called in 1886, was one of the '33-mile' houses located along the Old Route 19, a portion which is now Northgate Drive. The Slater family purchased the establishment in 1975, becoming its sixth owner. Jeff Slater took over and remodeled restaurant and bar a few years ago. Although many of the people that remember the good ole days have passed on, memories of the establishment's past still live on through artifacts and stories. |
